Hhmm, steaming in marinade, I will have to try that one. What type of marinade did you use? I add a rub, but hadn't thought about adding more flavor to the pot via a marinade. Sounds great!

Apparently there’s a “new” kid on the block that may show up on food labels, thought it’s not required, interesterified fat or fully hydrogenated fat. I heard the term interesterified fat while watching a video on obesity. After I figured out how to spell it, I found these articles, http://www.nafwa.org/component/rssfactory_pro/story/is-interesterified-oil-a-bad-fat/6959.html http://www.theheart.org/article/765927.do

I use the St. Louis cut ribs which are easier to handle in the pressure cooker since that top piece has been removed.. I usually just cut a slab in half before browning under the broiler and put them in the pot vertically. I put the ribs in the pasta/steamer insert that came [...]

Lia, after being paralyzed by snow for a couple of weeks, I finally pitched the last on the it off of the deck last week. While I was out there, I thought how nice it would be to cook on the grill again. Fortunately, the next day was bright, sunny, and in the [...]

@Alison, that sounds good. I have been using my new cooker a lot. So far, I've made chili, beef stew, chicken and dumplings, and ribs. The ribs came out really good. I seasoned them, browned them under the broiler, and then put them in the steamer basket with a 1/2 cup [...]

I have tried just about everything in my pressure cookers except canning and desserts, though I do have the silicon cake pan that fits inside of the cooker. I will get around to using it one day! In the meantime, I’ve decided to try my hand at pressure canning. I usually do [...]

Pamela S. Treadwell commented on the blog post Under Pressure: A Primer on Using a Pressure Cooker
I was reading about the history of pressure cookers in Miss Vickie’s Big Book of Pressure Cooker Recipes, and learned that pressure cookers really got a bad rap after WW II when the demand for pressure cookers increased. Unfortunately, as demand increased, so did shoddy and cheaply made pressure cookers that are infamous for [...]

I enjoy cooking with a pressure cooker. I currently have 4, and I plan on purchasing a larger one soon (10 qt) for canning. I used one today to make a bean soup! My husband looked very confused when I walked into the family room with a bowl of steaming hot beans [...]

Delicious! I used leftover rotisserie chicken in place of the turkey. I didn’t have any peanuts so in place of those, I used ramen noodles that I broke into small pieces and sauteed in a little olive oil until lightly toasted. The dressing is to die for!
